I Don't Do Messes
Let's see, Walker is 17 months, and tonight was the first time we REALLY let him eat all his dinner by himself! I'm so bad, I hate messes, especially FOOD ones...so I feed him EVERYTHING!! But he's starting to not want to sit in his high chair...he wants to sit at the REAL table with his sisters!!! So, I'm going to have to give in eventually, I just know it...but I'm just not ready!!!! He makes big enough messes around the house, i'm not ready for more!!!

Go Walker with that fork! I will probably be the same way, always wanting to be in control of the situation because you know about the mess, but think of Walker's proud little self when he eats his dinner all by himself.
okay, that picture of him w/ the fork.....he looks like he's 3 or something-what the crap??

You and I are so alike...it's crazy! I fed Joshua everything til' he was about 18 months because I didn't want to deal with the mess! Now, if I give him something particularly messy and try to help him eat it...forget it! He wants to do it all by himself! I always have to watch him for signs that he's done eating and ready to play with it! If I am not quick...he either pours it over his head or chucks it across the room or throws it on the floor! Toddlers are so cute and querky!
