Ok, so we aren't real BIG on Valentine's Day celebrations. Never have been, and probably never will be!!! I've never really liked the holiday, even when I was younger. I thought maybe that would change after having a boyfriend, it didn't. Then I thought it might change after getting married, um, wrong again! Oh well. I have only ONE recollection of a Valentines gift that was given to me and it was the BEST (I guess that's why its the only one I remember!) When Nathan was on his mission...the first year...I received a strange looking package in the mail on Valentines day, from him. When I opened it...much to my complete surprise...(and to most girls, utter disappointment) it was...flowers? no...chocolates? no....jewelry? no....a one and only...SOFTBALL BAT. Yep, you guessed it. I really knew that he loved me then! What girl wouldn't want a softball bat for vday? I was totally stoked and immediately called his sister Diana to share the good news...because now I would have a brand new bat for our womens softball league. Yes, we are definitely weird...but that makes us...US!
This year my dear hubby wanted to surprise me with something...told me it was going to be around $100....to his dismay, I told him NO!!! Very, very sad I know. I told him, as much as I would LIKE a surprise and something new and fun...what I REALLY need is new running shoes (yes, i'm running another 1/2 marathon in april...in CALI!!!! woohoo!!) So, to be honest, said I...it'd be better to use that money for something I need. So, there's goes my surprise for this year...although I told him there was still plenty of time in this year for other surprises!!!
Anyway, all I can say is...I LOVE this man...always have and always will. My days are not complete without his hugs and kisses....my days aren't complete without his smile and laughter...I love ya hon!!!! Here's to knowing each other for almost 12 years!!!!
(I have no idea how to use a scanner...so this picture is as good as its gonna get!!! Boy how we've changed...well, I guess I should say I'VE changed!!!)

Cute post. I ususally do something every year and today, guess what!? I have nothing planned. Feeling a bit sheepish, maybe I will pull something together last minute. But with a day full of work and YW in the evening is there time? (sigh) Maybe we will celebrate on the weekend. Happy Valentine's Day!
