10 Reasons

Well, my friend TAGGED me for a post....which I'm kind of out of ideas as to what to post anyway so I figured I'd do it....

So, the post is 10 reasons I ROCK and 10 reasons I STINK...

I'm going to start with the STINKing reasons because I like to end on a happy/uplifting note!! teehee

Ahem....

#1: I stink because my kids tell me I do...after working out or running that is...teehee
#2: I stink because I have a BAD, horrible, utterly disgusting temper!!!! Unfortunately, this is true...ask my hubby and kids! I have what is known as the "Chatwin Temper"...thanks to my dear ol' dad! Usually, atleast I HOPE, I'm pretty good about it...but there are some days where I just can't get it out of my system...and my poor family is to suffer for it:( sorry guys
#3: I stink because I have a problem with PROCRASTINATING....EVERYTHING!!! I am constantly telling myself that I'll do something later...even just getting the MAIL!!!! Sometimes mail sits in the box for like a week because I just put off going down to get it! I procrastinate calling people, doing the dishes, EVERYTHING!!!!
#4: I stink because I don't keep as good of contact with my family as I would like to...my family that lives in other cities/states...Like my brother in Moab, my brother in Winslow, my sister in law in North Carolina...even people in Mesa or Gilbert!!!!
#5: I stink because I don't keep as many commitments to myself that I would like to. Many times I talk myself out of something...like, NOT eating SUGAR!!!! Although, I have to say that I have gotten a lot BETTER in that area :)
#6: I stink because I don't let my kids help in the kitchen. I do sometimes, but not very often. And they want to help me ALL the time...but I just like things done a certain way and would rather have it done by myself. Which is really bad, because then they aren't going to learn how to do anything or learn to enjoy cooking or baking. I'm usually good at letting them help when I'm baking something...but not like actually cooking dinner.
#7: I stink because I don't let my kids play on the computer. I don't think they even know how to use the computer. They aren't allowed to even play games on it....
#8: I stink because after living in our house for over 2 years....the kids bathroom is STILL not painted! It even has blue painting tape in there, ready to paint...and its NEVER been done. it's the only room in the house that still needs painting...maybe...someday!
#9: I stink because I'm not a social butterfly type of person...who can talk to anybody and everybody. I like to hang out in the backround and rarely go to events or things where there's a lot of people.
#10: I stink because SOMETIMES I lack self confidence, I am too critical of myself, AND compare myself to others....

OK here goes the ROCKing!!!!
#1: I rock because I exercise every day of the week except for Sunday. Sunday is the ONLY day that I'm not doing some form of exercise. On my "rest" days from my running schedule I still do something, usually its weight training and a bike ride...or yoga..or whatever. I have a real SIX PACK!!! Rock On!!! HA!
#2: I rock because I RUN!!! I completed my first 1/2 marathon in February...and am running another one on May 3rd. I rock because I have goals to do triathalons and a personal goal to compete in the IRONMAN in 5 years.
#3: I rock because I love hanging out with my family. I love doing stuff with them. I love going on hikes, popping popcorn and sitting down for a fun movie, just hanging out in the front yard and watching them ride their bikes and scooters, going out to dinner, just being together!
#4: I rock because I have a brother who is a river runner in Moab. He lives in a BEAUTIFUL place and is doing what he was born to do...doing what he LOVES...HE ROCKS!!!!
#5: I rock because I am very health conscious...not only for myself but for my family. I am not 100% in this area, but I really do try my best to give them the best foods for their bodies and to eat healthy. They are not allowed to eat most of the things that parents give their kids. I also do my best in keeping them healthy and strong. I encourage them to be active, to play outside and to just BE KIDS! I don't allow them to sit in front of the TV for hours at a time.
#6: I rock because I am not a girly girl. (Not that girly girls are bad...nobody take offense!!!) I love going motorcycle riding, hiking, playing softball, doing all the things that BOYS love to do. And I'm pretty sure my husband likes this trait about me! :)
#7: I rock because along with being a mom and EVERYTHING that comes with that...I also manage to work from home and have done so for almost 7 years.
#8: I rock because EVERY Thursday I sit down and make the meal plan for the week and write out my grocery list. That way, I know exactly what needs to be bought at the grocery store and I'm pretty good about sticking to my list and not buying things that aren't needed or good for me!
#9: I rock because I give my daughter piano lessons....I have definitely learned and am still learning much about PATIENCE...
#10: My final ROCK....hmmm....I rock because I am ME!!!! Nobody can take that away...and I am happy and always try to make the best out of every situation. I rock because I love a challenge, I love pushing myself to complete something great. I love having that feeling of accomplishment. I rock because I have such an amazing family who loves me despite my many faults, my many mistakes and my stumbles and tumbles. I am who I am and I can be whatever I want to be. Rock On!!!! :)

YOU REALLY ARE INSPIRING! I HAVE A COUPLE YEARS OF PARENTING TO CATCH UP, BUT YOU ARE PROOF THAT A LITTLE EFFORT FOR YOUR FAMILY REALLY WORKS. EVEN SOME OF THE THINGS -LIKE THE COMPUTER- THAT YOU MAY NOT THINK ARE GOOD.... YOU WILL LOOK BACK AND BE GLAD YOUR KIDS PLAYED OUTSIDE INSTEAD. THANKS FOR SHOWING THAT THESE THINGS REALLY WORK AND ITS WORTH IT.
