I absolutely LoVe Granola....not the kind you buy in the store that has added EVERYTHING, but good ol' homemade granola. When I was a kid, we spent many summer vacations in Idaho with my Grandma and Grandpa Cleverly (my moms parents) and other cousins. The highlight of every trip, was being able to eat my Grandma's granola. EVERY morning we got to eat it for breakfast....As I got older, that was STILL a highlight for me (that and her MONSTER COOKIES, but that's a whole other post!!!). I now make her same granola recipe for my family and they LoVe it too!!! Every time I eat it, it takes me back to my years growing up and the trips to my grandma's. So many memories flood my mind....their house, the music we listened to while driving, playing kick the can, scrabble games, aunt charlotte....oh the list could go on and on, but I won't bore you all with them...
I have been lazy in my granola making the last 5 or 6 months...but decided it was time to make up a few batches...the kids thought it was a great idea too....
My little helpers!

Abby's face cracks me up in this picture! She's so cute!

Fresh from the oven!!!

Ahhh, its heavenly!!!

We like to eat it in the mornings with milk...but it's good even for snacks or whatever. My hubby will sometimes just take a ziploc baggie full of it with him to work! If you'd like the recipe, you can go to

I had yogurt, mangoes and granola for brekfast this morning and I love a little crunch with yogurt, but not the 230 calories for 1/2 cup! Yikes. I will try your recipe and calculate the calories, it looks sooo good.
I can spell breakfast, really. Just didn't do a spell check before...
yeah, no idea the calories on it! i just know its dang good! ha!
so.... where's my bag homey??? and did your momma tell you we saw her at mi amigos??
Hey girl Yummy...I love it! I am going to try that recipe. I have one that is different that you should give a whirl. We use it to munch on over popcorn.
thanks for including the recipe...now i can pretend i'm a health conscious person. it was fun seeing your neighborhood in your pictures. you know you're in az when at least half the yard is rock!:) and it looks like you have the most lawn in the neighborhood! is that a surburban or a tahoe in your driveway?(shortly to be replaced by an all-terrain mini-van :)
MMmmmm! That looks really good. My husband makes the granola around here. It's so much cheaper making it yourself too. And then you know exactly what's going into it, not stuff you can't pronounce.
