In Case Your Wondering....

Yes! I finished my 1/2 marathon and I'm still alive!!! Woohoo!!!! This picture of Abby was just too cute not to post, decked out in her jacket, scarf, glasses and beanie cap....SO CUTE!!! This was on our way to the race....Walker is VERY into it, as you can see!!! haha
The start of the race was good....whenever I run, the first couple of miles is always kind of weird for me, it takes me some time to get myself into a rythm (sp) We looked up the route of the race the night before so Nathan would know. The first time I saw them was around mile 8. This picture is taken right before mile 10....
This picture was taken close to mile 11. When I was running at this point, I was not feeling at my best, to put it point blank...I was ready to throw in the towel (yes, despite what my "devoted" readers think, I am NOT superman) Anyway....I didn't know at first that my family was even at this point. I wasn't paying attention and looking around, I was trying to talk myself into keeping running! I glanced up for a split second, saw my girls standing at the side of the road, my cute hubby by the car with his arms up in the air cheering away. The girls ran and gave me a hug and it was just what I needed to keep me going. I was overwhelmed with emotion I just cried. I hugged them back and headed forward on my journey. I can't thank my family enough for their support.
This is me right at the finish line! I MADE IT!!!!!!

Me and Abby having a snack after the race. I ate 3 apples, they tasted SO GOOD!!! They were so juicy and delicious...they were just what my body needed.

It took me a lot longer then I had planned, 2 hours and 27 minutes to be exact. It took a toll on my body, especially my knees, they are still pretty sore. Most of the route wasn't on the road, it was on farm land, packed dirt...So that's a lot different then running on regular street stuff. After getting home from the race, I took a shower (boy did I STINK!!) and then soaked myself in the tub! My sweet hubby took care of the kids, brought me bath bubbles, lit candles, gave me ice water...everything I needed. He was so good to me. Overall, I'm pretty darn proud of myself. My husband keeps telling everyone that I got first place! ha!!! He makes me laugh...yesterday when everbody called to see how I did, he told them that. They were BLOWN away!!! Then I would yell into the phone that he was lying!!! After getting off the phone with his mom last night....I said, why do you keep telling everybody that???!!!!! I wasn't even close!!! He said something that I'll never forget...."Well, you came in first in my eyes.." So, thank you to my wonderful husband and kids, for believing in me, when I didn't believe in myself.
(Oh, and yes, I'm already looking to find where and when my next 1/2 marathon will be)
